Summoned By Jesus

(THE SMALL GATE AND NARROW PATH Matt 7:14)

James 4:8 says “Draw near to Me, and I will draw near to you.”

• *At a time(s) and place(s) God will stir within you the questions of eternity: Why am I here? Why do I exist? Where did I come from? What is life all about? Is there any purpose to life? What difference does it make? <These internal questions are the start of God’s touch in you and your (should you choose to respond) quest to know truth and draw close to God.> The inner stirrings to know truth are His nudgings and promptings within us. John 6:44
• *Through His word, and/or the faithful witness of others, we ‘hear’ the word. Rom 10:17
• *Within us there is an awakening and revelation of His Love. Psalm 139:23-24 & 145:18
• *In faith, possibly very small, we begin to respond… just as we are (sinful but loved). Heb 11:6; Matt 11: 28-30; Heb 11:1 & 6.
• *He begins to answer our questions as we go deeper…questioning & seeking. Psalm 63:1
• *As we learn & grow, humility and repentance begin to form within us. 2 Pet 3:18; 2 Tim 2:15
• *He smiles on us and continues to reveal, bless and reassure us. Num 6:24-26
• *We recognize He is our Creator and in faith we accept Him as Lord and Savior. John 3:16.
• *By His love, grace and mercy we are redeemed and are born again. John 3:3 & 6
• *We search the Word for greater understanding & <more> truth… and begin to lay down our pride, pretenses and self-righteousness. 2 Tim 2:15
• *He cleanses us. 1 John 1:9
• *We give Him our submission, obedience, honor and devotion as we worship Him in spirit and truth. John 4:23-24
• *He draws nearer to us as we feel His grace and forgiveness (for ourselves & others.) Jer 29:13; Deu 4:29: James 4:8.
• *We move along the path towards holiness, sanctification, and Christ-likeness. Phil 3:10; Heb 12:14
• *His promises are yea and amen, and He bestows on us His Glory and power. Acts 1:8
• *One day He returns. John 14:1-3
• *We spend eternity with Him. John 14:1-3
